National Visual Art Education Conference 2014
The National Gallery of Australia presents the National Visual Art Education Conference in Canberra in January 2014.
We look forward to welcoming those interested in visual arts education from around the country and beyond. The program will include national and international keynote speakers reflecting the broad interests and key issues in the visual art education.
This conference is for pre-school, primary, middle school, secondary and tertiary educators, plus artists and educators from the museum and public gallery sectors.
The program includes keynote papers, panel sessions, conference papers and studio workshops. There will be opportunities to network, up skill and update academic and professional knowledge.
Association of Australian Gallery Guiding Organisations
The National Gallery of Australia voluntary guides are members of the Australia-wide guiding organisation Association of Australian Gallery Guiding Organisations (AAGGO). The guiding bodies of 19 Australian art galleries make up the membership of AAGGO.
The aim of AAGGO is to:
facilitate the exchange of information and ideas between member organisations
foster guides’ understanding and appreciation of the collections of their galleries.
These aims are met primarily by:
holding conferences in which the principal attendees are the voluntary guides from the member organisations
holding meetings of the AAGGO Council (comprising 1 member from each member organisation).
