The Sydney Harbour Bridge opened with much fanfare and celebration in 1932. The same year printmaker Gladys Owen produced her wood-engraving The Sydney Bridge, in which she draws on her love of architecture and design, focusing on just one of the pylons and the buildings that huddle around its monumental base.
