Theme: Patriotic Duty Artist: Rick AMOR Birth/Death: 1948 Title: Sandbag position, Komoro Airport, Dili Credit Line: Australian War Memorial, Canberra Rick Amor arrived in Dili on 11 November 1999. He stayed in East Timor for approximately two weeks, also travelling to Suai, Maliano and Balibo. Although by the time of his visit the situation in East Timor was relatively stable, Amor was acutely aware of the fighting that had taken place earlier. Amor took photographs and sketched the aftermath of the fighting before returning to Australia where he worked on his paintings. More details Click image to enlarge
