The Serpentine Falls is located in the Serpentine National Park about 60 kilometres south of Perth. Early visitors to Serpentine Falls were attracted to the abundance of fresh water cascading over the falls. Prinsep visited the area in 1880 while travelling around the South West, and afterwards published Scenes of Travel and Adventure in Western Australia, including images of the various places he visited.
