Biography
JENSZ, David, 1957

David Jensz was born in Melbourne in 1957. He obtained a Diploma of Art from the Riverina College of Advanced Education in 1980 and a Post-graduate Diploma in Sculpture from the Canberra School of Art, the Australian National University, in 1986. Jensz has had over sixteen solo exhibitions in Australia and internationally including a survey exhibition, David Jensz Sculpture, which travelled to Australian regional galleries in 2000-2001. His works have been selected for major survey exhibitions including the Osaka Sculpture Triennial, Japan, 1998; Australian Perspecta, Sydney, 1991; and the Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, 1990. He has received several grants and awards, including the Australia Council studio, New York, in 1995, and an Asialink Scholarship to Thailand in 1994. In 1995 he received the Canberra Critics' Circle Visual Arts Award. Since 1988 Jensz has taught at the Canberra School of Art. David Jensz lives in Murrumbateman, New South Wales.
