BISHOP, Mervyn

Bishop commenced work as a photographer with the newly established Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Canberra in 1974. His position involved travelling around the country to visually document the various initiatives funded by the Department. These photographs, and Bishop´┐Żs personal images taken during this period, have developed into an invaluable record of contemporary Aboriginal culture.
