'Some Recent American Art', International Council of The Museum of Modern Art, New York, cat. no. 16 (ill.). This exhibition toured five state galleries in Australia - in Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane - and to the City of Auckland Art Gallery, New Zealand. However, Contingent was only exhibited at two venues: at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Sydney, 15 April-12 May 1974, and at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Adelaide, 10 June - 7 July 1974.
