  • original plaster, executed by the sculptor Adolphe Victor Geoffrey-Dechaume from the original model (subsequently destroyed) until 1862;

  • then by descent to his son Adolphe Geoffrey-Dechaume until 1892;

  • bought by A. Bouasse-Lebel in May 1914, who surrendered it several days later;

  • Spencer Samuels & Co., New York, 1972;

  • from whom bought by the Australian National Gallery, December 1974
