Arthur wears an artist’s smock and holds a bronze statuette, possibly his most recent work, Snake charmer(which he exhibited the following year). Harold supportively sits behind him. Coates implied the harmonious relationship between the two brothers through his use of a traditional composition and a subtle tonal scheme of muted greys and browns.

Walker’s sculpture Florence Nightingale is included in the exhibition.
