The National Gallery of Australia presents Live at the Sculpture Garden over four evenings,
Friday 11, Saturday 12, Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March 2011.

5.00 pm for exhibition, 7.00 pm for performance

As part of Canberra's new Enlighten events these are four not-to-be-missed nights in the stunning surrounds of the National Gallery of Australia’s Sculpture Garden.

  • The evenings commence at 5.00 pm with an exclusive after hours viewing of Ballets Russes then the live performances start at 7.00 pm.
  • An extensive menu featuring gourmet food and drinks will be available for purchase from the Sculpture Bar.

Hosted by ABC radio personality James Valentine Live at the Sculpture Garden draws inspiration from the Ballet Russes’ commitment to artistic collaboration. James supplements the nightly entertainment with The James Valentine Quartet.

Six Quick Chicks

Immerse yourself in the burlesque performance of Six Quick Chicks as they grace the stage with brilliant comedy cabaret. They're funny, they're sexy, they're Six Quick Chicks. This show is a rollercoaster hour of character driven comedy, quick fire repartee and burlesque. Their shows are provocative; a heady mix of high and low brow, a scoop of surreal with just a dash of fart joke, a generous serving of sultry sophistication, garnished with the odd nude suit.

Sammy J

Experience comic genius Sammy J followed by the seductive tunes of Jackie Marshall and The James Valentine Quartet.

From Melbourne to Edinburgh, Sammy J has earned a reputation as one of the most exciting and inventive comedians on the international comedy scene. Sammy J’s new solo show Skinny Man, Modern World premiered at the 2010 Edinburgh Fringe to critical acclaim, cementing his standing as as “an endlessly creative talent” (Time Out, London).

Deni Hines

Laugh along with multi-award winning comic Felicity Ward followed by ARIA Award winner Deni Hines and The James Valentine Quartet.

Deni Hines is without doubt considered one of Australia's foremost entertainers.  From hit singles and albums, to lead roles in musicals & television, Deni has grown up in front of audiences from an enthusiastic young performer to a mature, sophisticated all round entertainer.
