Serat Tajus Salatin
1799–1851 European paper, pigment, gold leaf
30.0 x 20.0 x 6.0 cm
Museum Sonobudoyo, Yogyakarta
This manuscript contains two books - the Serat Tajussalatin and the Serat Mustakim. Drawing on Persian sources, the Serat Tajussalatin appears to have been the first text written in classical Malay on the role and duties of an Islamic ruler. The Serat Mustakim contains the advice given by Sultan Mustakim to his three children.
