In the first of the Festival's Sounds on site series, hear the National Carillon and the ANU Handbell Ensemble in the Sculpture Garden of the NGA. Follow the sounds of the bells to the National Portrait Gallery and finish at the High Court.

A Mexican Wave

Performed by Tambuco (Mexico) and Speak Percussion (Melbourne) this concert celebrates the great pioneers of percussion: Amadeo Roldan, Carlos Chavez and Edgar Varese, together with composers from Mexico and Australia. With the sounds of marimbas and maracas, whips and stones, sirens and bells, this concert showcases six creative musicians from opposite ends of the Pacific.
